Safe, structured, and age-appropriate activities
Run by Summit parents and volunteers
Strong focus on fun, values, and family time
No prior scouting experience needed—for kids or parents
Cub Scouting is about doing your best, not being perfect.
Cub Scouts is part of a national organization with shared values and programs—but each local pack is unique.
Pack 360 is:
100% volunteer-run
Led by parents whose children attend Franklin School
Shaped by the time, talents, and interests of local families
Because of this, our activities and how we run them may differ slightly from other packs—while always following Cub Scout principles and safety standards.
Our pack exists because parents help.
You don’t need:
Scouting experience
Special skills
A big time commitment
You do need:
A willingness to help
An interest in your child’s experience
If you’re open to volunteering, reach out to our pack leaders at CubScouts360new@gmail.com, they will:
Explain what to expect
Help find a role that fits your schedule
Support you every step of the way
When we asked former Scouts—now retired—what they remember most, over 60% said the Pinewood Derby.
The Pinewood Derby is a beloved parent-child project where families:
Design and build a small wooden race car
Paint and decorate it together
Race it on a gravity-powered track
Awards include:
Fastest cars
Best design
Most creative
Fun themed categories
For many kids, this is their first big hands-on engineering project—and for parents, a memory that lasts a lifetime.
Cub Scouts get kids outdoors—safely and joyfully.
Hiking
We regularly hike local trails, including Watchung Reservation, sometimes with Ranger Rich—a local favorite.
What to expect:
Short, kid-friendly hikes
Nature exploration
Frequent breaks
Parents hike together with their children
Camping
We camp or hike at least twice per year, with additional optional outings.
No experience required—just curiosity and comfortable clothes.
