When does the Cub Scout year run?
Our Cub Scout year follows the school calendar and runs from September through June.
Most families join at the beginning of the school year to enjoy the full program, but new Scouts are welcome during our main enrollment window—from spring of kindergarten through early fall of 1st grade.
What is the meeting schedule?
We aim to keep Scouting fun and manageable for busy families.
A typical month includes:
One Pack Meeting (all grades together)
One Den Meeting (small group, by grade level)
Meetings are usually 60–90 minutes, held on weekday evenings at Gym at Franklin Elementary School (136 Blackburn Rd, Summit).
How much time commitment is required?
Cub Scouts is designed to fit alongside school, sports, and other activities.
There are no strict attendance requirements. Families participate at the level that works best for them, and we understand that children may miss meetings due to other commitments.
How much does it cost to join?
The annual cost is approximately $150 per Scout.
Additional notes:
Some events are free; others (such as overnight trips) may have a separate fee
Families may offset costs by participating in the popcorn fundraiser
Financial assistance is available—please contact the Pack leadership if needed
After registration, families will also need to purchase:
A Cub Scout uniform
A Scout handbook (specific to grade level)
Where do we buy Cub Scout uniforms and supplies?
Uniforms and official Cub Scout supplies can be purchased online or in person at local Scout Shops.

Can my child invite friends?
Absolutely!
1st grade is the first official year of Cub Scouting, making it an ideal time to join.
We encourage families to invite classmates and friends—Scouting is even more fun when kids join together.
Who runs Cub Scouts Pack 360?
Pack 360 is run entirely by parent volunteers, including:
Cubmaster
Den Leaders
Committee Chair
Treasurer
Event Coordinators
Fundraising Chair
Parent participation is the heart of our pack—and new volunteers are always welcome.
How can parents get involved?
There are many ways to help, and most roles require only limited time.
You might:
Help lead or assist with your child’s Den
Help plan or run a Pack event
Support fundraising or communications
Most volunteers help 1–3 times per year, and Pack leaders provide guidance and support.
What if we’ve never camped before?
No experience is needed!
Cub Scouting is often a family’s first introduction to camping. All camping trips are led by trained leaders, and before each trip we:
Share detailed information
Review equipment needs
Discuss meals and schedules
Answer parent questions
Parents attend with their children, and safety is always our top priority.
Still have questions?
We’re happy to help.

Pack 360 maintains strong relationships with local Scouts BSA troops to help make this transition smooth and familiar for families.
Troop 67 is a long-established Scouts BSA troop serving Summit and surrounding communities.
